Property description
Adele Cottage sits in the idyllic Shropshire hamlet of Bagley, a pretty area located 13 miles north of Shrewsbury and 6 miles from Ellesmere. The property is situated just off a quiet lane and surrounded by the stunning Shropshire countryside.
The property itself is an extended and refurbished country cottage that its current owners have transformed.
This stunning four-bedroom home oozes character and charm with a delightful modern twist.
This wonderful home has been sympathetically extended and enhanced to create a versatile living space without compromising the attractiveness and appeal of a classic cottage in a countryside setting
In brief, the home has features such as a large fully fitted kitchen/breakfast room, a good size dining room, a 20 ft snug, a generous lounge overlooking the garden, a downstairs shower room, a first-floor landing with four good size bedrooms, en-suite to the principal room and modern family bathroom.
Outside there is a private driveway with ample parking, flower and shrub borders with a front seated area, a choice of alfresco dining areas to the rear,
There is also a large storage workshop area to the rear of the garden.
The property is approached via a quiet country lane. Parking is a shingle driveway area.
The home is entered via a large porch area where a downstairs WC and shower room are conveniently positioned, an appreciation for all dog walkers making their way inside after a wet day, plenty of coat and shoe space and could be considered a “boot room” area due to the generous propositions.
Through onto a fully fitted country kitchen, with a breakfast area and enough seating for a busy family on the go, off the breakfast area is a space currently used as a study area, which then leads to a utility room, again conveniently positioned with direct access to the garden.
The dining area off the kitchen is a cosy space and a room which would welcome the larger festive get-togethers of family occasions, from there you have the choice of the “snug” or large reception room to the rear. Both rooms have multi-fuel stoves with plenty of natural light and seating.
The stairs lead to a landing which offers access to four bedrooms, the principal bedroom offers an en-suite shower room and wonderful views towards Rodney’s pillar, a modern, fully tiled family bathroom with a freestanding bathtub. Three further double rooms and a pull-down loft access to a fully boarded and shelved loft room.
Outside
To the front is a large driveway to the front enough to park 4 cars, the home has side access to both sides of the home.
The rear garden is mostly lawn with two patio areas, perfect for al-fresco dining, teh space offers complete privacy and a quiet place to spend the summer after a long day.
A wooden gate takes you to a timber workshop split into two designated rooms, currently used for crafts and offers good space for storage.
Adele Cottage is just a short drive to Shrewsbury (13.1 miles approx.), Shropshire’s county town with its excellent range of shops, eateries and theatre and the pretty town of Ellesmere is just 6miles drive, home to the mere, the perfect place for a family walk.
Again Ellesmere with a fabulous selection of independent shops, eateries, and much more.
Highly regarded schooling can be found in Oswestry, Baschurch, Shrewsbury and Ellesmere.
Seller’s comments
“This is a lovely peaceful area to live in. I especially appreciate the amazing night skies as there is no light pollution here. You feel you can touch the stars.
Summer evenings are so relaxing here. Just bird song and animal chatter in
the background. We often see birds of prey in the fields and we have bats
flying around the back garden sometimes in the evening. We have had lots
of birds nesting in our garden and house martins sometimes nest under the
house eaves. A true nature retreat.”
