When we moved to Welsh Walls, we had a toddler. Being able to get out and walk through the park, into town and see people and be somewhere so friendly and safe has been amazing. With little ones, it’s the biggest relief in the world when you’re being driven a little crazy in the

house, and you can just get their wellies on, or put them in the buggy and take them immediately to the park, or to a cafe and feel ok again!

Another thing that’s brilliant, is having the best seats in the house for Oswestry Balloon Carnival!

From our room on the front, with the window open you can hear the noise of the balloons being

blown up! … Every year it’s my responsibility to message my family at 6.15am to let them know

if the balloons are going up! Likewise, you get a great view of the fireworks if they’re in the park,

and you can stay snuggly inside, or pop across the road.

There’s a great view from the top, front bedroom window. In the winter you can see right across to the mountains across Shropshire. And in the spring and summer, you get all the amazing foliage of the park.

During the summer I love being in the garden and hearing the music that is often in the park on

Sundays. We love Reggae Sunday the best - it’s so cool being able to hear the hum of it whilst gardening or relaxing with a cup of tea!

Another great thing about being here is getting our children around Oswestry by bike. We are big sustainability fans, and have safely taught our children to ride to Woodside School by bike.

We also used to cycle them in trailers to nursery (Footsteps) and school when they were really little! It was a great distance and an easy way to keep fit!

Writing all these things down makes me smile.
